From makeup artist to aesthetic nurse: My journey into aesthetic medicine
The world of beauty has always been my passion. I feel lucky to do my dream job, from working as a makeup artist to pursuing a Master’s in Aesthetic Medicine. This path has allowed me to blend my creativity with medical expertise, ultimately empowering others to feel confident in their own skin.

The Early Days: Freelance Makeup Artist
My journey into the beauty industry began where I studied Hair & Media Makeup at college. I started working as a freelance makeup artist. I loved the artistry involved in creating looks for special events and weddings. I would get so much satisfaction enhancing natural beauty and helping clients express their individuality through makeup.
During this time, I developed strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and desires. I learned that makeup could be a powerful tool for boosting confidence, but I also saw that many clients sought more than just temporary solutions. This realisation sparked my interest in the deeper aspects of beauty and self-care.
Working at the Bobbi Brown Counter
My experience at the Bobbi Brown counter further enriched my knowledge of beauty and skincare. Surrounded by industry professionals, I gained insights into product formulation, skin types, and the importance of skincare in achieving a flawless makeup look. This experience was invaluable, as it deepened my understanding of the skin and its needs, laying the groundwork for my future in aesthetic medicine.

With a clear vision of my career path, I decided to pursue a master’s degree in aesthetic medicine. This training has expanded my knowledge of cosmetic procedures, dermatological practices, and the latest advancements in aesthetic treatments. It has also equipped me with the skills necessary to safely and effectively perform procedures such as injectables and skin rejuvenation treatments.
Throughout my training I’ve attended I’ve had the opportunity to learn from industry leaders who inspire me, engage in hands-on training, and stay updated on the latest trends and technologies.
One of my favourite aspects of working in aesthetics is the constant evolution of techniques, technologies, and trends. There is always something new to learn, making it a field that never feels stagnant or dull. For me, this is exciting; and why I love being part of this industry!
The Rewarding Role of an Aesthetic Nurse
I love my job as an aesthetic nurse. Every day, I have the privilege of helping clients achieve their aesthetic goals while prioritising their health and safety. I draw on my background as a make-up artist to understand the nuances of beauty and apply that knowledge to enhance the natural features of my clients.
Moreover, the relationships I build with clients are incredibly rewarding. I appreciate the trust they place in me, allowing me to be part of their self-care journey.
